Spring has sprung at FCCC-LCVI
The sun is shining, birds are chirping, and the spring awakenings are happening. The children have been inquisitive in their natural world in the outdoor classroom. They have used their research and critical thinking skills to engage in the change of season. The educators have been co-learners with the children, following their lead and interests and emerging their learning based off the budding curiosity of the children. The educators engaged in rich conversations of the findings the children had discovered such as; the grass coming back, the sun shining down, and the bugs they started to see. This was an opportunity to dig deeper, test theories, and provoke some learning. The children were engaged in soil play, planting vegetables and flowers, and exploring with various means of creative art materials. This enhanced the learning that happens naturally in the environment!
