FCCC-Lancaster Experiences
Our School Age children have a passion and interest to use their cognitive thinking skills all the time!
As our educators have been embracing this interest, one of the experiments the children really enjoyed was making Exploding Lemon Volcanos. They used Lemons, baking soda, vinegar, and food colouring. The children loved being able to make predictions, mix colours and experiment with different quantities/measurements to see if the outcomes changed!
As the weather began to change so did their creative minds. They took toilet paper rolls and yarn and began to create adorable yarn hats. This activity had the children working together to help one another and enhanced their fine motor skills. It also sparked some meaningful conversations and engagement between the educators and children.
The children in our Extended Day program were focused on learning about bears and different ways they hibernate. The educators created invitations to play to enhance the children’s learning.
The educators really embraced our diversity within our Lancaster team. One of our educators took the opportunity to teach the children about her culture and the celebration of Diwali. They even made their own paper candles!
