Your preschooler will be cared for by Registered Early Childhood Educators (or relevant other training) at a ratio of one educator for every eight children.
The environment is designed to mirror a home like environment with a strong focus on the natural world. Frontenac County Childcare Centre recognizes that children spend a number of hours per day with us and it is important to us that we do not replace home but simply mirror it. As for the natural world, we also know that children who have a strong connection to their natural world do better emotionally and socially.
Promoting a sense of well-being is another foundation that your child will experience at Frontenac County Childcare Centre. The snacks and lunches provided by us will follow all recommendations set out in the Health Canada documents. Physical activity, both indoors and outdoors, will be a large part of each child’s day, every day. We will provide opportunities to practise and conquer gross and fine motor skills. Whenever possible we will include the natural world.

Seeds of Empathy
FCCC is proud to have been chosen to participate in the "Seeds of Empathy" training and program delivery. This program is designed for early childhood settings to foster social and emotional competence, as well as early literacy skills and attitudes in children three to five years of age. It also provides professional development opportunities for our educators. The program is currently being implemented at FCCC – Lancaster.
